I am so in love with spring. The newness of the flowers, the leaves on the trees, just new life everywhere. I love the front of our house in the spring with the tulips and all the buds. It does help that this spring we are anticipating the arrival of our own new one. I have a little less than 2 weeks until my due date. I can't believe how fast time has flown. We are on sort of a lock down for the weekend for delivery. Jim has his annual golf trip with his Dad, Ben and Justin to Arcadia. As he told my friend yesterday "the mecca of golf courses" in Michigan. Lucy and I, along with the rest of the Koops girls will be relaxing pool side at a hotel in Grandville! Perfect if you ask me!

Lucy keeps us laughing over here, if it isn't for her fish faces, her actually eating beans (only yellow beans because she found "jelly beans" hidden inside! (hey I'm going to let her believe whatever she wants since "oo-cy don't wike that" has been a big part of our dinner time lately)), and her love for jumping, singing, and anything princess. My favorite word that Lucy says now is "farfellows" for marshmellows (her preggo mom has an obsession with lucky charms right now).

I hope to be able to update you all soon on some big news!

Princess Ariel and Flounder the fish

Anyone who has hung out with Lucy lately would know of her obsession with the Little Mermaid. She talks about princesses and Flounder the fish non-stop sometimes. She also likes to swim in the bath tub like princess Ariel. She will spend almost her whole bath time floating on her back like this, sometimes singing princess songs. (which consist of the words, la, la, la, la, la....) She even says "night pwincess oo-cy" to herself before I can say it; it melts my heart!

Big girl bed

I can hardly believe that our little Lucy is now sleeping in a big girl bed. The transition has been pretty smooth so far. We've only caught her out of bed once, and that was to stockpile all of her books onto her bed. We have been working on the lighting for her, in her crib she LOVED (that really is an understatement) her ocean aquarium and used it quite frequently when she woke up at night. A night lite is not going to cut it, I'm thinking I need something she can push that plays music and lights up and can sit on her bedside table........any ideas?

So here is her room thus far. We need to finish curtains, a bedskirt, and hanging things on the wall that go along with her new furnishings. My goal is by the time the baby arrives. She is pretty excited that the baby gets to sleep in her old crib, and still spends plenty of time during the day putting her care bear to sleep in there!

Warm weather

I can't believe the weather! Now I definately can relate to feeling so "cooped" up. Lucy was outside all day Saturday and Sunday. She loves it. We went on a rock finding expedition, jumped on the neighbors trampoline (she seriously is like a little bunny), swang, went on the slide, rode her bike, drew with chalk, and blew bubbles! We were definately busy! I tried to get her to go inside (preggo momma has to use the bathroom sometime) and she did not want to. "5 more minutes"........and since when can a 22 month old bargain how much time they have left?!

I'm finally feeling a little better. Thank goodness. I still can't smell or hear, but at least I'm not blowing my nose every 2 minutes. Lucy is now starting with a runny nose. We are praying that we all stay healthy until this baby comes, Jim and I have no more sick days that we want to use for ourselves or for Lucy. NOw come the joys of being almost 9 months pregnant. 35 weeks tomorrow, I can't believe how fast time has gone. It is so amazing to feel the baby move around inside. I really can't wait to see who is hiding in there, and what they will be like!
